Water Clarity: August 15, 2011

  1. Nice Blog! It would be interesting to see Water Clarity vs Water Depth as a baseline. I've noticed that when ever the water level on the lake is up, lake the water is clearer as the waves don't roll on the lake bottom as much.

  2. Thank you! It is true increased water depth will reduce the effects of wave action on the sediment. However, I think the major correlation with low water and poor water clarity is that low water typicality occurs late in the season along with warm temperatures that increase algae activity. The stirring up of the bottom by waves and carp also continually feeds the algae with nutrients and adds to the turbidity.
